Heki is a small Istrian village in the central plain part of Istra surrounded with a spatial forestry environment of both deciduous and coniferous trees. These woods are appropriate for walks on clean, fresh air and for many others sport and recreative activities that can also be practised in a sport center in the village. There is a railway Pula - Trst that passes trough the village.
From the village Heki takes a half hour drive to the coastal turistic places like Pore?, Rovinj, Pula, Rabac...
There are not many informations about history of Heki. There is a story that our ancestor while running away from Turks came to the place called Hekovac, where a crucial battle take place. Our ancestor was standing in a hole in which he was not in range of Turkish sword and was able to defend himself with a long bludgeon. Later on, this "winner" built a house where today Heki stands.
In the village there are several historical and cultural monuments, sport centers and old buildings. The village Heki belongs to parish of St. Lucija that is located on a wonderful hill with arranged park.
